These
Hatha Yoga classes are perfect for any level student from beginner
to advanced, the teacher will adjust the pace accordingly. They will
incorporate alignment techniques in postures while maintaining focus
on breath and inner awareness. Pranayama (breath and energy expansion)
techniques, asana (postural), and meditation techniques will be blended
to create a setting for deep introspection and awareness. These classes
are ideal for learning stress relief methods, for balancing energy,
and for overall health. A flow of postures and variations of Sun Salutations
will be offered to warm and energize the body, moving from standing
and balancing poses to seated poses. Each class will end with a supine
meditation. Taught by Sondra Loring.
Basics:
explores the breath, focuses on correct alignment
and the fundamentals of yoga postures. This class is an excellent
place to begin your Yogic journey. No prior experience is necessary,
but all levels are welcome to review the basics. Given by Donald
Mouton.
Community
Yoga:
A fun, envigorating and relaxing class for people
of all levels. The class will be a flow style. Modifications for
all poses will be offered to make the class appropriate for beginning
students as well as more advanced practioners. Led by Terry
Schaff at a reduced price of $5.00 per class
Gentle
Yoga:
class focuses on learning the basics of yoga. We will combine attention
on breathing, stretching and strengthening to increase our flexibility
and awareness. There is no experience necessary and everyone will
be encouraged to work at their own level. The class will foster an
atmosphere of kindness, as the goal is to increase a personal sense
of well-being. Led by Terry Schaff,
Tuesdays 5:15-6:30, beginning Nov. 11th.
Kids
Yoga:
Make way for the next generation! Through yoga, children
learn how to relax and interact in a nurturing and non-competitive
environment. Yoga practice also increases flexibility, strength and
muscle tone and helps children to develop space orientation, body
awareness, balance and a sense of harmony. Playful kids yoga classes
mix games and songs with the physical postures. Offered by Tara

Lunchtime
Yoga: Enjoy a
refreshing break from work or children with this shorter class that
will leave you energized and relaxed. The class will be challenging,
but friendly to all levels. Taught by Raghunath.
Strong
Vinyasa Flow: A
new class for those wanting a challenge in their practice and to climb
to new heights. Raghunath weaves
chanting, dynamic sequencing, and life experiences from his travels
in India into an inspiring class that is physically and spiritually
uplifting.
Meditation Classes:

Meditation classes hosted by Gordon
Scarritt are held on Sunday mornings in two sittings before and/or
after the morning vinyasa class, 9:00 AM and Noon. True meditation
is resting as awareness itself. Classes are open to everyone, regardless
of experience. Come to practice meditation with instruction and time
for discussion. Class fee: $10.
Vinyasa:
Challenging classes where one posture flows into the
next, initiated by the breath. In these classes instructions on alignment
will be given along with variations of postures suggested for intermediate
and/or advanced students. Class will start with some form of Sun Salutations
and move through standing, balancing, and seated postures. Inversions
and backbends may be practiced. These energizing classes are appropriate
for intermediate and more advanced students who wish to gain flexibility,
stamina, and endurance in a safe and somewhat lighthearted environment.

Argentine
Tango: Discover
the most creative and improvisational of social dances: Argentine
Tango – a meditation in movement and connection. Led by Ellen
Chrystal a dancer who has studied and danced tango for over twelve
years in classes and workshops in New York and Buenos Aires with many
of the greatest Argentine tango masters. In 2006 Ellen founded "Tango
New Paltz" with Nina Jirka. Together they have been teaching
and presenting Argentine Tango in New Paltz and have performed and
taught at local colleges. They are happy to bring their open and free
approach to tango to Hudson. Read more about them at their website:

tool is the body and soul -- and the right shoes! In this dance one
must wear shoes with leather or suede soles. Also dance sneakers are
acceptable. But please, no street shoes or shoes with rubber soles.
